These feeding (pap) boats are part of our domestic collection. They resemble sauce or gravy boats, but instead of sauce, would be filled with a mixture of bread and milk or water to help to feed invalids. Some are prettier than others, and they come with or without handles.

Emily Beynon has decanted our Cryosurgery exhibition to make way for the Discovering Disability display, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Objects have been chosen (provisionally) so she's measuring up!

A great talk by Louise Robinson to a WI group about the pseudoscience of phrenology (and our death masks, of course).

It was lovely to see you all.

The father of modern surgery, Joseph Lister was born in 1827. Lister transformed the surgical world when he introduced his antiseptic technique into hospitals. His work was greatly influenced by Louis Pasteur's work on putrefaction.

Curator-in-training. Enjoyed the egg hunt and tried on nearly all of the costumes (at the same time πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ). Pointed out all the 'statues' and asked a very good question about why the statue was 'dirty'. Didn't hang about long enough to hear the answer.

This will be a welcome addition for all staff, volunteers and visitors to our building. We have certainly missed our cafΓ© facilities since the pandemic. πŸ§β˜•
