These feeding (pap) boats are part of our domestic collection. They resemble sauce or gravy boats, but instead of sauce, would be filled with a mixture of bread and milk or water to help to feed invalids. Some are prettier than others, and they come with or without handles.

The father of modern surgery, Joseph Lister was born #OTD in 1827. Lister transformed the surgical world when he introduced his antiseptic technique into hospitals. His work was greatly influenced by Louis Pasteur's work on putrefaction. #histmed

Curator-in-training. Enjoyed the egg hunt and tried on nearly all of the costumes (at the same time 🤷‍♀️). Pointed out all the 'statues' and asked a very good question about why the statue was 'dirty'. Didn't hang about long enough to hear the answer. #histmed #halfterm
