8 years ago on Sunday, 10 April 2016 St Helena joined the jet age. History made when Bombardier Challenger 300 jet landed. First jet to land on the island. It had flown in from Jo'burg via Namibia with a team from Air Safety Support International who were to inspect the airfield

Our team hosts monthly beach cleans to tackle plastic pollution affecting turtle nests. In the last session, we collected 30.1 kg of rubbish from Long Beach, one of our most important nature reserves for nesting turtles.

These last few weeks have involved some masked booby BTO ringing training on Ascension Island. We also deployed colour rings funded by The Seabird Group to help us understand their dispersal as they recolonise the main island #SuperSeabirdSunday

AIG, with the support of FCDO's International Programme, is enhancing flood resilience with improved drainage and temporary barriers. This collaborative effort has already demonstrated early success with a reduction in flood damage to homes on island following recent heavy rains.
