It's really bad that this driver received less than 25% of what the rider paid. It seems like @Lyft and Uber are rushing to exploit drivers before laws are put in place. Where is the Mayor Jacob Frey?

Here's the bottom line: corporations don't regulate themselves. We need the City Council to pass the Rideshare Living Wage and Safety Ordinance to truly protect worker safety.

Um, yes? No one should be paid less than minimum wage.

The long and dark history of excluding Black and immigrant workers from minimum wage protections makes this comment even more sickening.

It's great to see Chicago Gig Alliance's rideshare living wage and safety ordinance get Marty Quinn's support, Alderman of the 13th Ward.

Uber says laws requiring them to pay drivers fairly will force them to raise fares. But they jacked up fares MORE in a city w/ no pay minimum... and then announced plans to pay execs + investors $7 billion in stock buybacks.

...Do they expect cities to take them seriously?
