The Richardson Center is greatly appreciative of our partners, including the Governments of Qatar and Norway, and the many individuals who support and enable our work as a not-for-profit.

'I would like to especially thank our long-term partner the Government of Qatar, without whose consistent support our work would not be possible,' added Governor Richardson.

Accompanying Governor Richardson are former US Ambassador Cameron Hume, Richardson Center Vice President and Executive Director Mickey Bergman, and Richardson Center Senior Advisor and Program Director Steve Ross.

“This is the day that you hope will come when you do this work,” said Governor Richardson. “We are so grateful that Danny will finally be able to reconnect with his loved ones, who have been advocating for him all this time, against immense odds.'

Danny's release was secured following a private humanitarian visit by Governor Richardson to Myanmar and face-to-face negotiations with General Min Aung Hlaing, Myanmar's Commander in Chief.

Danny and the Richardson team will be making their long journey home, through Qatar, over the next day and a half, and look forward to uniting Danny with his parents, Buddy and Rose, as well as his brother Bryan, in the United States.
