Today we teamed up w/the Travel Training folks Essex County Council Suffolk CC on a journey from Ipswich to Felixstowe w/16-18 yr olds. Travel training gives people w/ special educational needs or disabilities the confidence & skills to travel independently on trains, buses, walking routes.

Happy Birthday Felixstowe Line, opened 147 years ago 1 May 1877! Today it's served by an hourly passenger service; there are 40+ container trains each direction each day. All stations have been adopted by volunteers who've created lovely gardens/tend to the platform flower tubs.

Check before you travel during both May bank holidays. No engineering works on the East Suffolk Lines this weekend, but on the bank holiday at the end of the month, buses replace trains Ipswich - Lowestoft Sunday 26/5 and Monday 27/5.
