Today we said a fond farewell to Year 14 as they departed on study leave. We celebrated their time through the years…we had tears but most importantly, many laughs! 🦌

Congrats to the U19 Boys Table Tennis team which, for the 3rd year in a row, claimed the All-Ireland Team Championship yesterday.

Competing in Dublin, the team performed superbly to secure a convincing victory over a strong Blackrock College side.

Well done!

Year 11 Geography students have been conducting fieldwork near Magilligan today as part of their GCSE course. They have been investigating changes in a river as you move downstream. Thank you as always to the amazing staff at Magilligan Field Centre for their help. 👏 📋

Well done to 6 of our Senior School pupils who today participated in an International Women’s Day workshop, run by ‘Concern Worldwide’.

The event, held at Parliament Buildings, Stormont, focused on gender equality, with debating workshop activities also featured.

Well done to the outgoing team of Head Prefects - they were a tremendous team who represented the School with distinction serving with enthusiasm and commitment. 🦌👏

Well done to all of the below on their respective performances, as well as the other GGS competitors who competed on the day, representing the School with pride. Once again, Grosvenor’s reputation for table tennis excellence was consolidated on a day of high tension and drama!

In addition, the U12 Boys comp saw Karsten Close secure gold, with Matthew Bailie claiming silver.

And elsewhere, further podium placings were attained by Jack Bailie (U16 Boys - Bronze), Lily Parke (U16 Girls - Bronze), and Alfie Kennedy (U14 - 1st in the Consolation Event).

Congrats to the School’s table tennis players who once again enjoyed incredible success at today’s Ulster Schools’ Individual Champs.

In the U19 Boys event, Ben Watson performed superbly to claim gold, with Junior Close and Euan Hanna performing well to secure a share of 3rd.

P6 Parent Information Evening - Postponed

The P6 Parent Information Evening, scheduled to take place on Thursday 18 April at 5.00pm, has been postponed to a later date pending the receipt of further information from SEAG. Further information will follow in due course.

Thank you to the Chest, Heart & Stroke Association and the PSNI for delivering important workshops / talks today on anti-vaping.

Abaana is the nominated charity for Year 8 and to date, they have raised almost £500 for the charity (over £200 from 8E alone!). The total raised equates to 17 months of sponsorship for a boy called James from Uganda who can now attend school as a result.

Well done, Year 8! 👏

Good luck to the 15 GGS table tennis players who are competing at the Ulster Schools’ Individual Table Tennis Championships, at Lisburn Racquets Club, today.

Hopefully they can maintain the School’s proud record at this event over recent years.

Biology Fieldtrip 📋

Year 13 pupils have been conducting fieldwork in Killough this morning as part of their AS Biology curriculum. They have been completing quadrat sampling of seaweed along the coast. 👌
