A GW press release said that last night's escalation was due to a student attempting to jump over the barricade. The statement promised to hold those involved with the breach “accountable.” As of this afternoon, the scene is peaceful, although the barricade remains in a pile.

“I need students to stay in this encampment. I need our community to continue to show up because we cannot give up. As scary as repression might be, there is nothing scarier than being underneath the bombs and airstrikes in Gaza,' the organizer added.

“We will not rest. We will not leave until we get full divestment, financial transparency, and all of our demands. I need you guys to stay with me,” an organizer with GW Student Coalition for Justice in Palestine said.
