Captain McLocklan is our new Captain of the Base and Commanding Officer of HMS Nelson, and today is his first official day on the job after his ceremonial supersession from Captain Andrew Robinson last week. 🫡

There will be a full test of our nuclear emergency alerting siren at 0930 today.

This is a statutory requirement & is being conducted in agreement with the local councils.

The two-tone siren will be sounded for one minute for the test - please don’t be alarmed if you hear it🚨

The city of Portsmouth will host a national commemoration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day in June 2024.

The whole country will come together to remember those who died during the liberation of Western Europe and thank the surviving veterans of D-Day.
