She boldly went to all four corners of the globe, steaming 500,000 miles across her 20-year naval career on hydrographic and oceanographic operations.

Today, the White Ensign was lowered for the final time on HMS Enterprise at her decommissioning ceremony.

The Captains of the ENTERPRISE! As we prepare to go beyond the final frontier with our decommissioning ceremony it was great to welcome all the James T Kirk and Jean Luc Picard lookalikes back on board. Loads of great dits (for the most part). They boldly went!

1 day to decommissioning - 2022, a year of regeneration. Emerging from dry dock, through operational sea training and then back to ops, this time in the High North. ENTERPRISE ended the year as the UK's presence in the N Sea, helping to protect critical national infrastructure.

2 days to decommissioning - 2021 was a tough year for us as well: propulsion defects and COVID meant that the ship struggled to get back on an even keel after the challenges of the past year. Hard work and the can do attitude of RN sailors got us back on track, ready for 2022.

5 days to decommissioning - Summer 2018 saw ENTERPRISE return to the UK on completion of a year long SNMCMG2 duty. No rest for the wicked though - straight into 5 annual docking at Falmouth before getting back on ops in Norway and then a top up of operational sea training.

Enterprise leaves Falmouth for the last time today as we make our way to Portsmouth. We've visited this great maritime town many times over the years; it's always been a magnificent host. So long and thanks for all the fish.
Next stop Pompey and our final entry on Monday morning.

I've missed a couple of years! - ENTP spent most of 2016 in the central Med conducting humanitarian ops alongside European partners before being redeployed to the South Atlantic to pick up the duties of Falkland Islands guard ship in place of HMS CLYDE. Truly global capability.

8 days to decommissioning - after starting 2015 East of Suez conducting survey tasking ENTP was again re-tasked to the Mediterranean this time in response to a growing humanitarian crises. OP LITTEN would occupy the ship for the next 18 months and see thousands of lives saved.
