It was a pleasure to host Second Sea Lord, visiting the Ship's Company (amongst other things) to understand the progress we've been making to define (and refine) how we will operate the platform. And naturally to set foot on our newly installed Bridge. #nextgenfrigate

Heavy Engineering (literally) - 'Drop Stern' is now complete, marking steady progress in the Ship's build. Note the white 'A' brackets which will now be aligned, that will later house the propeller shafts. #nextgenfrigate #deliveringinspiration

Technology & Innovation are pillars of Type 31 and Venturer. Our Deputy Weapon Engineer Officer, Dan Broome, recently brought this to life visiting Pomphlett Primary School to work with pupils (and budding engineers?!) to code robots using iPads, and to fly drones #nextgenfrigate

The Ship's bow section was recently installed by Babcock International, aligning some complex geometry between units. Note the 'bulbous bow' profile at the waterline, designed to reduce drag and improve efficiency. #nextgenfrigate #deliveringinspiration

The Command System is the 'brain' of the Ship, intelligently linking weapons with sensors. The shipbuilding team visited ours prior to packaging it up for transit, then installation here in Rosyth. The system brings plenty of new capability to the RN. #nextgenfrigate
