This afternoon 3 past High Sheriff’s of Cambridgeshire having tea together!

Handed over the reins of Shrievalty to my successor David Way in the ceremony held at the Town Hall in Huntingdon. It has been a tremendous privilege to serve my County over the last 12 months & wishing David every success for a successful & enjoyable year - Dr Bharat N Khetani.

Afternoon at Peterborough Interfaith Meeting held at the Hindu Temple in Peterborough in the company of the Lord Lieutenant Mrs Julie Spence and other distinguished Guests - a very interesting talk by Mrs Reddy about Hinduism followed by Q & A

This morning visited Meadowgate Academy in Wisbech which provides education and pastoral care for pupils aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of learning difficulties. Impressed with the loving care each child receives!

Yesterday it was an opportunity to recognise the tremendous work done by volunteers in the community & presented High Sheriff’s Certificates from an individual to a group of volunteers all of whom have made a significant impact on our communities

Final visit of the Day to the Sea Cadets as they were very keen to see the H.S.in full uniform! The cadets were fascinated by the Uniform & History of the High Sheriff! Also informed that I have nominated to be the next President of the Unit from Autumn.

Early evening a visit to the Girl Guides Group meeting at Rosimini Centre in Wisbech - they were keen to learn about the history and role of the High Sheriff

3rd Stop late morning at Fenland Orchard Project - did the Official opening jointly with the Mayor of Wisbech - a project that will bring great benefits to service users

Busy morning - 1st stop At Walsoken Village Hall - tea & cake with senior citizens followed by 2nd stop at Gorefield Village Hall Art Group - amazingly talented artists creating beautiful artwork & keen to hear about Shrievalty

Privileged to be invited & asked to present a prize at the Viva Theatre’s Annual Awards Ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Ely

Yesterday visited STEM - club based in Cambourne which offers a diverse range of courses and initiatives specifically designed for children and teenagers aged 7 to 18 years old devoted to empowering youth as innovators, leaders, and problem solvers

Last evening at Cambridge Mayor’s Reception at Guildhall - a brilliant evening & chance to catchup with a lot of people we have met during the year as H.S. including the Italian Consulate Representative

Visited the Mobile Diabetic Eye Screening at Wisbech - I was the pioneer of the Service back in 1983 at Peterborough District Hospital using just a hand held ophthalmoscope. Amazed how modern technology has improved the quality of the screening!

Yesterday had chance to experience the facilities of the Mobile Gym at Queen Mary Centre, Wisbech-started by Liam Rushmere by converting his Van & commissioned by the health authority. Glad to see many seniors using it.

This evening Guest of Honour at the Pride in Fenland Awards - recognising & rewarding the amazing work done by residents of all ages (lady in her ninth year to young children) Congratulations to all who received their awards.

Visit to Rose Lodge Care Home in Wisbech and pleased to note that there is an activities manager who ensures that meaningful, enjoyable, engaging and stimulating activities are planned and implemented in the Home for all residents.

Yesterday my wife & I were guests of Wisbech Ladies Probus Lunch Club - they were fascinated about the history and role of the High Sheriff historically and as it’s now. The Ladies were most impressed with the Court Dress!

My Hindu Chaplain organised a Thanksgiving Giving Service at Sanatan Mandir (Temple) to mark a most wonderful Shrivel Year that I have had - a very spiritual experience and a proud moment for the Community to celebrate together.

Wishing the Duke of Edinburgh a very Happy 60th Birthday 🎂
