It was narrated from Abu Ayyub (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
“Whoever fasts Ramadan then follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasted for a lifetime.

Narrated `Aisha (RA): (the wife of the Prophet) Allah's Messenger (SAW) used to pray (at night) in Ramadan.
