The skills, knowledge and resource gap in the care old older people has long been recognised.

Dr Zena Aldridge says this is not a quick fix problem and adequate development opportunities are needed for nurses to improve outcomes.

These concepts are not new & not the magic wand solution for the current pressures. The fundamental issue of workforce (with a community & frailty skill set) is lacking. Also the challenges in social care have a direct impact in supporting these models to keep people at home.
