Well can’t believe I managed to do my leg of Guernsey Marathon in 37 minutes. An unexpectedly speedy finish. Thanks to St John Ambulance Guernsey for all their sport before and during the race, to the organiser and volunteers and all those who gave their encouragement from the roadside today.

Well, in a moment of madness, agreed to do a leg of Guernsey Marathon for St John Ambulance Guernsey tomorrow. Yikes! 😳 Every joint and muscle already aching and I’ve not even started yet.

Finding the last few weeks and months on X getting me down and it’s not just because of the relentless rain. So much hatred. Anti this and anti that. Instead of focusing on what divides us, we really need to look at how by working together we can make a positive difference.

1/ The new election2025.gg website is now live, with information and guidance for people who are considering now whether they may wish to stand in next year’s General Election.

Worth a read in Guernsey Press today. It was the successful Sursis I proposed and Yvonne Burford seconded that sank the proposals for a new boat. It was one of those ‘spend to save’ claims that didn’t add up. It never made sense then and time has proven that to be the case.

Best wishes for a full recovery to Catherine, Princess of Wales from the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The last few months must have been difficult for the whole family on a number of levels. Hope they’re now given time and space to get through it together.

With my Mum late 60s. A whole generation ago.

Really missing my Mum today. Can’t believe it’s been 8 years since we lost her. She made me believe I could be what I wanted to be. A woman who supported women & made such a difference despite the barriers put in her way. Yes this is me in tights and I’ve hated them ever since.

Disappointed that planned trip to Alderney on States business today cancelled due to weather. At least could chair my 1st Alderney Care Board meeting via Teams this morning and catch up on other stuff. Fed up with this rain though. I’m sure I’m developing webbed feet. 🦆

Well attended event laid on by Guernsey Language Commission this afternoon. Interesting information about Guernesiais (Ger as in Gerry, nes as in necessary and yay as in yay), past, present and future plans. Learnt a few snippets while there and now having enne coupaie d’tée. Pas trop mal.
