I find it very troubling that now Israel, a party to a dispute at the ICJ, is using a BBC interview as authority to interpret an order of the Court in ways that contradict the individual written opinions of sitting ICJ judges. Seriously, what was Judge Donoghue thinking

I just left Columbia University where I got to talk to students and faculty at the #Palestine encampment. It was a personally very moving experience. The students were well-organized, peaceful and determined. It was full of love. Sadly, the administration has put the campus on lockdown.

Former ICJ President Donoghue engages in the ethical error of obtuseness (thx Emily Kidd White) when she attempts hairsplitting between plausible 'rights' and 'claims.'

TL;DR the Court decided there was, at minimum, a serious risk of genocide or related acts in Gaza. 🧵
