In my proposed FY25 Capital Budget, which fully funds the Board of Education’s request, we provide a historic $36.8 million to address systemic renovations in HCPSS facilities. This is the highest investment in HCPSS Systemic Renovations in at least the last 15 years.

Many of our Howard High School scholar athletes who earned Cross Country titles in the Fall returned to prominence during the boys Indoor Track Season. Our Lions achieved both a County and Regional title in a season that was open to new stars after last year’s graduations. Congrats!

Today marks the beginning of Food Prevention Week. Every year, Americans spend more than $218 billion on food that is later wasted. By meal planning and buying only what we need, we can save money for other things we need.

Consider doing a bit more to help prevent food waste.
