One of the youngest patients at European Gaza Hospital is 18-month-old Ziad.

He was injured in a blast and suffered facial injuries which required surgery.

Last week, brave Ziad was one of 20 procedures a day performed by the ICRC war surgery team.

While now on his way to physical recovery, many children like Ziad will have mental scars that remain for years to come.
