Given the role buses play in people's lives, it's good to see them getting some recognition!

(It's worth remembering that 62% of all public transport trips in GB are by bus - not that you'd know given the coverage of public transport!)

Good to read a reflective piece from Joseph Timan Manchester News MEN on where the new dividing lines are on the regional agenda following Angela Rayner 🌹's speech at our IPPR North birthday last month. manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-m…

We have two brilliant jobs available IPPR:

🌟 HR manager - key to our operations, culture & impact
🌟 Senior research fellow or research fellow IPPRNorth, ideally in North East of England, to drive our work there

Could this be you or someone you know?

The Prime Minister’s rhetoric ‘fabricating’ a war on motorists has been ‘incredibly unhelpful’ and does not reflect public opinion, according to the IPPR.

Clear message for ministers in latest research by More in Common for IPPR

People value public transport - they see it as more of a necessity than a phone or internet connection.

They also want to see it prioritised and properly funded.

Our latest survey by More in Common reveals that public transport is seen as more of a necessity for ppl in the UK than a phone, internet connection or car

> 1 car per household is largely seen as a luxury

When the The Yorkshire Post speaks, people listen - and even more so when the paper's front page is all about an important new IPPR report....

Great report. People value public transport and want to see it prioritised and properly funded. Also, interesting point about the subjectivity of 'fairness' in the context of transport - very relevant to the Scottish 'Fair Fares' Review.

Thanks David Smith for your thoughtful review of our report on AI & the labour market, in your The Times and The Sunday Times column.

Totally agree that retraining will play key part of the policy response. But that’s only one piece of the puzzle. Need a job-centric industrial policy for AI.

New figures show that public transport is more important to people than having a car, a phone or access to the internet.

Divisive rhetoric is misleading and distracts from the need to improve public transport for all 👇

We asked public who gets a good/bad deal from current transport system🚗🚃🚌

They told us it's stacked against ppl who:
🔸Live in rural areas
🔸Are on a low income
🔸Are disabled
🔸Don't own a car

People with the best deal?
🔹On high income
