With Shane Vested Interests Jones overseeing fast-tracked resource management decisions there will be no fish left in the sea, no coal left in the ground, and no environment left for future generations to thrive.

Oh, so Luxon takes $52,000 a year not because he needs it but because it’s an entitlement. I look forward to repeating that back to every Minister who says food relief organisations need to make sure people have need for food and not a sense of entitlement to it.

A healthy democracy needs vibrant, diverse news media. The Newshub collapse is terrible for its people. An emaciated, polarised 4th estate is the last thing we need. I get the opposition to state funded news. But we need to put our heads together & figure out a model that works.

It was a privilege to Party Vote James Shaw at the ‘23 election. A genuinely decent human with strong values, pragmatic strategy and a big brain. One of the few politicians who leaves with a legacy. Can’t wait to see what he does next.

So National has finally figured out that ACT’s Treaty bill is toxic. Passing Ministerial responsibility to Seymour won’t do much to distance them from it though. Luxon had no idea what he was getting National into.

Has a Minister straight- up lied about what they are working on? If so the consequences should be severe. rnz.co.nz/news/in-depth/…

Poor Luxon a rabbit in the headlights on the question of recognising Palestine as a state. Needing Winston to cover for him.

Watched yesterday. What a yawnfest. Gervais has become completely one-note. The set was littered with unoriginal cliches and his “shocking” material was no better than your uncle at Christmas dinner. But he’s identified his target audience and the money will roll in.

Seymour demands a review of the admissions system for Māori and Pacific medical students but not for rural and regional students. Just another racist waste of time and money. rnz.co.nz/news/in-depth/…

After three years out of Parliament I can see with clarity why most people look on the theatrics and roll their eyes. It’s all a bit weird and childish isn’t it? I’m talking about all sides here.

Lots of thoughts about today. Has there ever been protests on the first day of Parliament before? And when Luxon complained about Kiwis being whiney was he talking about himself? Complaining that people are being unfair because they are appalled by his policies is pretty sad.

I’m curious (genuinely) to know if the number of headlines fell in proportion with the number of ram raids, if there was a lag, and, if so, how long it was.

Holy shit. Our Government is reversing initiatives intended to reduce smoking rates and expects that to help fund tax cuts for the rich. Nicola Willis said so. What have we done?
