PA:

1. Admits they no longer debrief with GPs when req scans/prescriptions.
2. Admits no defined PA scope.
3. Thinks it's OK for PAs not to know things because neither do doctors sometimes.
4. What is a 'patient with mental health' and why don't they get the medical model?

Conservative MP Kevin Hollinrake says the will cost the taxpayer around £1,000,000,000

He then says that Fujitsu will pay a proportion of this

Given that Fujistsu are responsible for this, why is the tax payer contributing? Shouldn't Fujitsu pay the full…

Hello NHS England,

I would like to ask a question. Why are PAs with a 2 year course and an 8 week block in GP allowed to be directly employed by GP practices, funded by ARRS, when doctors with a 5 year degree and 2 year foundation programme are not?

Thanks,

Ortho.

BREAKING 🚨 | Bosses will no longer able to punish striking workers, thanks to UNISON's Supreme Court win.

This is another crushing defeat for the government in court over its oppressive strike laws.

Monumental victory for UNISON - and the whole union movement!

I secured my national training number in cardiology 20 years ago in 2004. In those days, after 6 years training you could become a consultant.

I was offered an academic consultant post in 2010 and i declined it- I didn't feel I was safe and my skills in interventional Cardiology…

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that patients should refuse to see PAs in Primary Care for a new medical problem and should demand to see a doctor. This simply isn't safe for patients.

PAs do not have the training after a 2 years masters to be able to do this (a doctor…

🔴 Physician Assistants strike again from the wards,
An F1 Doctor was forced by PA to prescribe Abx to penicillin allergic patient 💀.
⛔️PAs target junior Doctors as they’re less likely to resist
⛔️Enabled by some consultants
⛔️Doctors must refuse to px for PAs without seeing pt

If the consultant surgeon was unaware, what’s the odds on the patient knowing and giving informed consent to the procedure?

Patients have the right to make informed decisions, if they didn’t know the anaesthetist was replaced by an AA, they were not informed when they consented.

There is no 'at the level of an SHO/reg/doctor'.

A doctor is never
- 'at the level of a matron'
- 'at the level of a senior physio'
- 'at the level of a superintendent radiographer'

We are our own profession with our own internal hierarchy.

PAs are not part of it.

The virus can persist and replicate long term in tissue reservoirs, not just at autopsy. This includes in the brain, GI tract and the lung, possibly for months even years. We need to develop new antivirals. NIH Director Bertagnolli MD 👇

If only you really supported the creative industries. If only you hadn’t slashed their funding. If only you hadn’t denigrated arts and creative courses. If only you hadn’t overseen a dramatic fall in music and drama teaching and the closure of music venues.
If only…

Rwanda Bill

Govt defeated in the Lords: 258 to 233.

Lords require the Govt to have regard to international law and the Children Act 1989, the Human Rights Act 1998, the Modern Slavery Act 2015 in drafting legislation.

Govt has refused.

The Bill was not part of Tory manifesto.
