Last week I went to London with my fiancé, and as I wandered around Richmond I kept thinking that spring is, in my opinion, the most Gothic of seasons. I just wrote a blog post about this. Link in bio. 😊

Loving the same person for a long time is like rereading your favourite book. The story is reassuringly familiar, but each time you notice new details and understand the themes more deeply. Love is like a comfort book.

I say this as an Italian: regardless of whether you want to be a parent, children are people who belong in restaurants and cafes and libraries, and wanting them out of all public spaces has become far too disturbingly normalised in the Anglosphere.

Being a goth is not just for the young and edgy! We need more elderly goths who sit knitting cosy jumpers in graveyards. Goths who bake skull-shaped cookies while cheerfully chatting to their raven pals. Grandma goths.

Making art matters more than ever. In a society that revolves around consumption, finding joy and fulfilment in creation is an act of resistance.

That situation where you read a book much more slowly than you normally would because it is too good and you want to savour every sentence and don’t want it to end.
