U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar presented Brooklyn Center nonprofit CAPI with a $1 million check on Tuesday. CAPI serves immigrants, refugees and people of color in Hennepin County. The organization plans to use the funding to expand its immigrant opportunity center.

Black communities have long been on the front lines of fighting climate change. Sabathani Community Center has been working to create a more equitable and sustainable South Minneapolis community for 57 years. I was honored to celebrate Earth Day alongside them.

On #EarthDay , we can't ignore how corporations fuel the climate crisis for profit.

We need a Green New Deal to create union jobs, regulate emissions, and put people and our planet over polluter profits.

SCOTUS is currently hearing arguments on whether cities can punish the unhoused for the 'crime' of existing without shelter.

No one should face arrest for having no permanent shelter. 

We must end the criminalization of homelessness and invest in affordable housing for all.

It's unconscionable that affordable housing is so scarce in this country. While my Homes for All Act aims to expand the availability of affordable housing options, Congress must utilize every tool at its disposal to be part of the solution.
