This morning, The JMadison Project and Brian J. Karem filed a new FOIA lawsuit seeking the intelligence information relied upon by NSA in this memo. The fight for transparency regarding UHIs continues.
These records were secured by Mark S. Zaid and me for Josh and The JMadison Project via FOIA. Transparency matters.
1/Last Nov we filed #FOIA lawsuit for The JMadison Project & Noah Shachtman against US Department of the Interior to learn who tweeted this unprofessional Public Affairs msg in response to Tim Fullerton. No federal agency should act this way. Today, we settled case & learned Ben Goldey was responsible.
Today, on behalf of The JMadison Project & Noah Shachtman, my firm filed #FOIA lawsuit against GSA to obtain all docs, incl Emily Murphy - ARCHIVED's e-mails, that reveal why - & on whose instructions - they delayed certifying @Transition46 & providing needed funds for smooth govt transition.
Today we filed #FOIA request on behalf of Noah Shachtman of The Daily Beast to GSA for disclosure of docs pertaining to certification of Joe Biden's presidential election victory. We cannot compel agency action, but we can ensure transparency.
Litigation will follow as needed
This started with Mark S. Zaid and me getting DOJ confirmation in cases before Judge Mehta that Trump's tweets are official statements (2017), can't be assumed to be factual (2018), and don't constitute declassification orders (2019).
Jason Leopold is finishing the job.
We ran into same thing in #FOIA lawsuit for The JMadison Project & Brad Heath.
How #embarrassing that U.S. Department of Justice ignores official Presidential 'statements' yet at same time seeks to further private concerns of First Family.
We can confirm that Bradley P. Moss and Mark S. Zaid are alive and well, despite the Twitter crisis. No word yet though on how Mr. Moss is doing with the phantom sensations of sending new tweets that he can’t actually send.
NEW: Mark S. Zaid, Bradley P. Moss, & @JoshGerstein filed a FOIA lawsuit against DOJ, CIA, ODNI, DOD, State, & Treasury for access to information on which Obama & Trump officials made 'unmasking' intel requests from January 2016 through now.

'We appreciate [Richard Grenell] saying that declassifying ... identities of officials who submitted unmasking requests posed no risk of compromise of sources or methods ...” - me
The JMadison Project sues for 'unmasking' docs washex.am/2Y46W3c
Today we learned Department of State denied our clients' The JMadison Project & Josh Gerstein expedited processing. The ten day period elapses on Friday, June 5th. Congratulations Secretary Pompeo, you just earned yourself yet another #FOIA lawsuit!
But Richard Grenell clearly states names of senior officials who requested #unmasking does not jeopardize sources or methods. We filed #FOIA requests today for The JMadison Project & Josh Gerstein for all officials' names from 2016 to now who requested unmaskings. In 10 days we sue.
Today, we filed #FOIA requests for The JMadison Project & Josh Gerstein to ensure these now unclassified transcripts are publicly released. If they're not released within ten days, we file our lawsuit. #Transparency
Federal judge rejects lifting any further redactions in the Carter Page, Ph.D. FISA documents Mark S. Zaid and I got for Brad Heath, concluding Donald J. Trump tweets criticizing the redactions were mere speculative assertions of bad faith.
