Although former President Trump swept all but one of Iowa's counties in its quadrennial caucus, the totals split into two blocs yields a more interesting map.
Note: Haley and DeSantis may not have overlapping appeals. Rather, this map shows the 'Trumpy'/non-Trump 'coalitions'.

As expected Trump is losing ground as suburban counties come in but there's so many rural counties left to report where he'll put up Assad level numbers.

How did Bush Sr go from winning the iowa caucus in 1980 to losing it in 88? —

Grassley was a strong Dole supporter and iirc they underestimated Buchanan, tho Bush/Atwater righted the ship by NH curiouscat.live/JMilesColeman/…

One of 2010's most competitive Congressional elections took place in a somewhat surprising district, .

This Obama+15 seat in suburban Washington D.C. saw Democratic incumbent Gerry Connolly pull out a narrow win, only winning by just under 1,000 votes!

I actually wrote something for once. The three open GOP seats in Colorado spurred my interest to write something, particularly the 5th District. Colorado Springs is the birthplace of the modern evangelical movement but it has moved steadily leftward.

Scorecards measuring all 7 of the WI state legislative proposed remedial maps.

I've improved footnotes, fixed a small error in my Reock score formula, & removed ward splits which the parties jointly agreed not to count.

Taken a bit of a break from the dot maps, so here's a map of the first Democratic candidate to win each county in the 21st century, as well as a map of the last Democratic candidate to win each county in the 20th century

Yesterday, Taiwan elected Vice President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) as President, a third consecutive victory for the DPP in a three-way race. Challenges from two parties to the right allowed Lai to win with only 40% of the vote alongside his party's loss of its legislative majority.

Never before seen! The 1920 Presidential election in Duluth and the Iron Range. Harding won thanks to strong results from middle/upper class voters and mining towns. Cox did better in working class and railroad towns. Debs did best in logging towns.
