Gil was humble, thoughtful, witty, and an absolute delight to be around. He had a calm energy and a soft, wry smile that made you feel welcomed into his space for a quick chat whenever you were around him. A role model in so many ways. Just hard to believe. 😔❤️

I had won the Indy Lights race the day before, and (I don’t recall why) drove the pace-car in the IndyCar race for Justin’s win that day! Only time I ever did it. I remember clear as day how menacing he looked behind me even when I wasn’t actually in the race. What a stud. ❤️
