NPR’s new CEO: “Our reverence for the truth might be a distraction getting in the way of finding common ground & getting things done.”

This gets to the heart of the cultural divide in the modern West: whether you believe truth is a priority or a hindrance

Contra “Christian” Nationalism/

We need free minds and free markets.

Sadly, many of the people who have tried to resist the CN movement have done so without an understanding of this.

Why is Christian Nationalism growing its influence?

A lot of guys my age realized their pastors would kick them out of a church for posting a meme making fun of a Democrat politician but these same pastors would never kick out someone for voting for Democrats—the party trying to…

One essential mark of masculinity we have lost is the ability to confidently and humbly engage in intellectual sparring.

Humility is wanting to be proven wrong *if* you’re wrong.

Confidence is knowing that’s a good thing.

Imagine what your life would look like with 0% income tax and 0% property tax.

The government could easily maintain all essential functions with simple sales tax and various fees.

Instead, they waste billions of your dollars on pet projects to enrich & empower themselves.

“Do you like science?”

The line isn't Left vs Right. It's 'the truth matters' versus 'the truth is what we need it to be.' That's the epistemological line between good and evil.

Collectivism is unnatural.

Human beings were created with independent minds and faculties of volition.

This doesn't exclude social life—it enables it.

Collectivism turns all people into NPCs, and thinks the resultant herd of mindless beasts is a 'society.'

'There are two sides to every issue: one side is right, and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

The man who is wrong still retains some respect for truth, if only by accepting the responsibility of choice.

But the man in the middle is the knave who blanks out…

In any theological controversy, the side which attempts to make sense of all the relevant texts should always be taken more seriously than the side which selectively emphasizes a few relevant texts to the exclusion of others.

It’s the diff btwn serious exegesis & proof-texting.

The fall did not alter Man's essential nature.

Fallen Man is not a different species from Created Man.

We have the same design and telos of a rational animal—of an integrated spiritual & physical being—and it's very good.

The fall corrupted our desires & wills, not our essence
