Yesterday, on IWD, the NSW Liberal Party voted on our state executive. We didn't get a SINGLE woman up.
We now have: a male federal leader. A male NSW leader. A male NSW Director. A male NSW president. And FOUR male Vice Presidents.

Just a small sample of the casual I sometimes cop as an Arab Australian journalist 🤌🏽

Notice how polite I was to him before he declared immigrants are the root of all problems.

I was covering a hit and run by the way…but I guess the culprit is always “immigrants”.

Ray Hadley is on 2GB now backing up the Alan Jones story published in the SMH. Says he spoke to one of the victims ('Brad Webster') a long time ago, but was always asked to keep it private.

Amazing investigation by Kate McClymont into Alan Jones. Incredible to think how many years this has festered.

Crikey yesterday published a series of inaccurate and defamatory comments by Francesca Albanese about my reporting but did not bother to seek a response before publication, as they acknowledge here. This was a breach of basic journalistic standards and the MEAA code of ethics🧵

Astonishingly well written book. Jacqueline Maley has such astute observational skills. Killer opening lines and it didn't let up. It's the story of a journalist who exposes an Instagram cancer faker which results in the wellness influencer's suicide. Hard recommend.

If it's true that Andrew Probyn is leaving the ABC, that is total madness.

He knows politics, he breaks news, he is thoroughly fair and he works non-stop.

He's a good man treated shabbily by an organisation that should know better.
