Cab (https://toot.bike/@cabd) #FBPE #NAFO @2_Wheeled_Wolf @ mastodon.social 🇪🇺 The discomfort many people seem to have with not being physically anonymous on the road is truly remarkable. I can't see it all being to do with being unidentifiable for various reasons, symptomatic of a wider anxiety?

RIP, Eleanor Coppola, co-director of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse, probably the best documentary about the making of a film. Wife of Francis Ford Coppola, mother of Gian-Carlo, Sofia, and Roman. This is a great loss for all of us.

E-cargo bikes (and bikes generally) are so ridiculously tainted with privilege that I can afford to own outright 2 of them, a Brompton, a couple of Moulton's and 3 other bikes for less than the cost of the average price for a car in the UK: £14K.

You'll be reading a lot about the supposed suffering of UK drivers having to pay higher insurance premiums.

Eg this account theguardian.com/money/2024/apr… which refers to higher costs of repairs.

Amazon billed its 'Just Walk Out' stores as some triumph of AI. In reality, it was powered by thousands of low-paid Indian workers manually adding up items in your cart as you shopped.

How insanely dystopian. gizmodo.com/amazon-reporte…

It’s discombobulating that so much of our culture is based around nature - the Easter bunny, snowy Christmas scenes, summer holidays abroad - the actual reality of that is under threat now. All human experience and culture is about to change - and hardly anyone seems to…

If you can afford a holiday that’s fine. But for those of us who can’t, taking your kids to the beach for a paddle, or swim in a river is now a luxury we’ve had taken away. It may not sound like much to you but for us it was everything. So thanks a lot Tories for literally taking…
