This sounds murky.
Solar 'farms' (much like wind 'farms') should never *ever* be built on SSSI's - and in this case 'wetland landscape of international significance'.
That shouldn't even be up for discussion, surely?

Jason Endfield Hunting moles for ruining beautiful lawns or disrupting farming is like shooting an artist for getting in the way of their artwork while they create it. Moles aerate soil, improve drainage and act as pest control against some crop damaging insects. And so uniquely charismatic!

Jason Endfield Steve Ormerod 💙 Of course, moles should be protected. They are - in Germany and many other countries. In the UK, anyone can kill them without training or supervision. The commonly used traps are unapproved, very likely inhumane and can be used year round leaving dependent young to starve.

Isn't it time to give moles more legal protection?
Should 'molecatchers' be a thing of the past?
The killing of this much loved native mammal is shockingly inhumane and unnecessary.

Derek Gow A traditional Lapwing nest site today in Borders - a massive drain ripped through the middle of it, torn out hawthorns scattered along the banks. One Lapwing, crouched down in a furrow. Another site yesterday - empty. Last year's nests were ploughed out. Farmers!
