What if the logic at the core of the SMR paradigm is faulty?

One of the key promises of SMRs is to move a greater percentage of work from the unproductive construction site to a productive factory environment... but what if large modular reactors do a better job of that?

Module…

This article from the London School of Economics is quite possibly the worst housing policy analysis I’ve ever seen.

What’s their magic solution that gets around the law of supply and demand?

Saudi Arabia is going to do it. China is going to do it. If we don't do it in the US, we are going to get left behind - not for cheap labor like before, but for cheap energy. Texas is the best place to do it in the US - blessed with incredible renewable and geological resources.

It's honestly absurd that prices ever go this high. With more energy freedom and accurate price signals, this would not happen.

We have 270,000 EVs in Texas now. If they supplied an average of 10 kW through vehicle to grid (V2G), they'd supply 2.7 GW of power (and make $40/hr…

The world is greatly underestimating the impact solar will have in the next 20 years. Everybody got it wrong for the last 20 years, and current projections are just as off base.

Solar is rapidly improving in every relevant metric. Complementary technologies (like batteries) are…

Levi Henze Particulate emissions are primarily from exhaust and brake wear.

Tire wear remains an issue, but the magnitude has been greatly misrepresented by the media.

EVs reduce exhaust and brake emissions. Lighter vehicles and better tires can reduce tire wear, but to really make an…

Texas should just declare that it's mission is to have the lowest cost, cleanest, and most reliable electricity on the planet. Build the crap out of the grid - transmission and distribution. Stop pitting fossil fuels against renewables and nuclear against everyone. Just build…

Energy powers civilization.

For people to prosper, we need to get better at harnessing our most abundant energy resource - the Sun.

Harvesting 1% of the energy in Earth's sunlight would be a 100x increase in humanity's energy supply.

We have all the technology we need for…

Primary energy is wrong, but not how you think.

Primary energy gets criticized because it doesn’t take into account the losses that occur when converting and delivering energy.

This makes fossil fuels look like they do more work than they really do because most of that energy…
