What gives me hope is that there is no discrepancy between what's good for future generations and what's good for us: technology to replace fossil fuels is getting better constantly and massively ramping up the pace of the transition will benefit everyone (except oil barrons).

I'm back! After five days twitter support recognized I fell through the cracks of the usual procedure and they made it right.

I will now start to retire my temporary account AukeHoekstra.

Thanks everybody for sharing and reporting!

Joseph Majkut If you read the first paragraph of the VPP report it summarizes why it is so central.

We need all 3 of those things true, but VPP is the straw the stirs the drink!

.Bonneville Power had an all-time peak record in last week's winter storm. It's a utility which, because of cheap hydropower, has a *lot* of electric heating on its system - a kind of canary in the electrification mine. Would be interesting to subject this event to some research.

People should be celebrating the Hertz EV experiment. They tried something, it didn’t work out. That’s testing the market baby.

If an offshore wind facility connected at an existing site, then the improvements and connection would qualify under our 1706 Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment program. commonwealthbeacon.org/opinion/avoid-…

New pricing announced for Austin Energy 'Plug-in-EVerywhere' program (cute name). This is still unbelievably cheap public charging. Unfortunately, it's all ChargePoint chargers - no Tesla Charging, as far as I know.

Behind every great town is a mayor working to make their city the best place to be in America.

Many are bringing in good-paying clean energy jobs and bringing down energy costs through energy-efficient upgrades.

Keep up the good fight, @USMayors.

Solar panels & battery systems can do more than provide homes with more resilient, self-generated clean energy.

Puerto Rico is now tapping the batteries to provide backup power for the grid based on how much the customers want to share.

By far the least expensive and least polluting option is to get around on foot, bike or public transit. But if you need a personal vehicle, EVs cost less to drive compared to a similar gasoline-powered vehicle, and they also emit less carbon pollution. bit.ly/48Akvup

Transitioning toward a net-zero economy means cutting down U.S. carbon emissions. We also have to manage the CO2 already in our atmosphere.

We have a team dedicated to storing, containing, and capturing CO2.

There are over 3,500 MWs of batteries online today — upwards of 10,000 megawatts are expected to be available by the end of 2024. Incentives from the Inflation Reduction Act are helping to make them more economical to build and operate.

New report: EVs aren't reducing gasoline consumption nearly as much as they could because they haven't been targeted at the right drivers. A tiny minority of 'superusers' are responsible for most driving. Get them in EVs! coltura.org/gasoline-super…

China interconnected massive volumes of renewable capacity, and then pursued a proactive transmission expansion plan to mitigate congestion. In contrast, the prevailing US approach is to require transmission expansion *before* renewables can interconnect.
