Sadly the events of April the 7th 1968 will always be synonymous with Hockenheimring where we tragically lost Jim. Today 56 years later people have been paying their respects at the site of Jim’s accident where there is a memorial.

It’s not just in Chirnside that people were paying their respects today. In the village of Kilmany in Fife where Jim was born the great statue saw many people visiting.

It’s really touching to see the love that exists for Jim Clark 56yrs on. We love hearing your memories of Jim and what he means to you.

It’s hard to believe 56 yrs have now passed since we lost Jim. Obviously today is a day filled with immense sadness at his loss. We wonder about what could have been, but it is also a day to give thanks for what he was & what he achieved in that short 32yr long remarkable life.

Monday to Saturday: 10:00 - 16:30 (closed Wednesday)
Sunday: 11:00-15:00

At last weekend’s Australian Grand Prix it was shocking to see Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton both retire due to car failures. Modern F1 has become hugely reliable. It wasn’t that way back in Jim’s day, he could drive round a problem too, see below:-
