Adjusted for inflation, teachers' salaries have fallen dramatically compared with both private and public sector workers in NI. In real terms, private sector salaries in 2023 have fallen 3.6% since 2019, public sector incomes down 5.8%, but teacher salaries are down by 17.5%.
