Good to see this picked up in Schools Week - having Russell Group as a destination measure doesn’t measure anything valuable given that it’s a self-selecting Mission Group not a quality kitemark. It also promotes clustering of applications to RG unis leaving too many students…

Please read Jo Johnson's piece The Times and The Sunday Times today re Lords Select Committee report on 11-16 education. Chaired by Lord J the report says case for change is overwhelming. J notes how music etc have been sidelined from schools by the EBacc and that Govt has refused to act. Shocking.
