I don’t necessarily get the compulsion to “gamble” in the truest form. But the financial gain, the fulfillment, the ego boost, the self worth. All of those things that come with winning, beating markets, taking money out of the system, became very addictive.

For sure, winning money isn’t harmful. But I lost relationships (ex-gf), had some mental health and physical health issues, and spent a ton of time. I mean A TON of time. Less now than in years past but I was consumed with it for a majority of the past decade.
