Valuable perspective on OR leadership. I disagree with the point that CSO doesn’t need to be a surgeon but all other points are well made. We need to elevate surgical leadership in the hospital administration org chart.

Excellent perspective and a good reminder that despite EMR mandates, medicine is a profession of humanity, not one that is best accomplished looking at a computer screen. A corollary: administrative quantitative fallacy is the most important contributor of physician burnout.
