Cheveldayoff said that some players in who are part of the team’s core asked in their exit meetings about Chibrikov, Lambert, Salomonsson & McGroarty. Cheveldayoff was struck by how invested those veterans are in parts of the team’s upcoming future.

Bowness didn’t expand on which players were suffering from injuries but mentioned that Lowry had “a bad hand most of the series”. He disclosed that Barron’s injury was a knee and that he wouldn’t have played in round one. TSN EDGE

Dillon says his cut left hand was “a super weird play” but longterm will be OK. Stitches come out next Monday. Was targeting Gm 6/7 to return.

Dillon’s not sure how it happened because, “I’m not good with blood, to be honest, so I haven’t even looked at (replays).”

Ehlers says he and his agent haven’t had talks with Cheveldayoff about a contract extension (UFA after next season) and that he hasn’t thought about his future.

Ehlers won’t play in WHC due to his neck issue which he says he needs to take care of before it gets worse.

Bowness called Namestnikov last night when he got back to Winnipeg. Bowness described Namestnikov as nauseous because he hadn’t eaten since the accident occurred & wasn’t feeling great.

Bowness said Namestnikov has “a colourful cheekbone” after seeing him this morning.

Bowness said Namestnikov suffered a fracture left cheekbone (no orbital bone damage) due to the deflected shot to his face on Sunday.

Namestnikov will fly to Winnipeg to Denver Monday afternoon and Bowness hasn’t ruled out his availability to play on Tuesday. TSN EDGE
