May's calendar highlight: The Black Guillemot.

Another species from Shetland. They nest in boulder fields and can often be seen on the sea or the shoreline. They have amazing red feet and gape.

Buy the calendar on my website:
£15 for this large A3 calendar.

We've bought a pub! 🍻

As part of our vision for a wilder Hickling, we've purchased the Pleasure Boat Inn. We hope to develop extra facilities at the site so visitors can find out more about Hickling's wildlife as well as book & enjoy boat trips ⛵

April's calendar highlight: Shetland's otters!
After a few hours of sleeping on the shoreline, these two dry otters woke up and started climbing over each other.

Thanks to the great response to the KeepitWild 🍃💚🍃 Glow-worm story over the last couple of days.

For those wanting to help, as we wish to expand the scope of the project we’ve started a crowdfunder. Donations would be very welcome crowdfunder.co.uk/p/glow-worms-uk

Did not expect this to be front page (and I’m not so much rescuing as adding another tool to the conservation kit that’s not quite fully polished yet!), but a lovely piece from Helen Briggs on the glowies. Thanks for all the kind responses. bbc.co.uk/news/science-e…

Before & after from our project with Norfolk Rivers Trust. There's still digging to do as we work on connecting the new route to the river.

The aim is to transform the area by creating a dynamic mosaic of wetland habitats within the floodplain & restoring the river habitat.

Spring has sprung, and March is quacking with delight on my 2024 Calendar! This was taken just outside my house on the duck pond.

February in the new calendar features this barn owl carrying some prey, taken in Norfolk.

It is a great time to watch barn owls, with some coming out in the day after the weather has been bad.

The calendar is available on my website. Thanks to those who have brought it already

The first image in next year's calendar is a short-eared owl. We are currently having an influx of these winter visitors in Norfolk, with lots being seen coming in off the sea over the last few weeks.

You can buy the calendar on my website or drop me a message.

Selbrigg pond today after lots of sediment runoff from a nearby construction. This was nearly gin clear a few weeks ago when we were filming Pike. The river Glaven has also been hugely affected by this event. Dreadful to see.

💔We are devastated by the news that the tree in Northumberland – also known as the Robin Hood tree - has been felled. This is a truly irreplaceable loss.

🌳We'd love to see your photos and hear about your memories attached to this special tree in the replies below.

‘Ping, ping’

Bearded Tits are normally heard before they are seen. With reed beds being so dense, you don’t normally get a view until they make their way to the edge. This one was happy to hang around whilst doing the splits.
