📣 In case you missed it: we've announced Councillor Tony Dyer as our nominee for Leader of the Council, and Councillor Heather Mack for Deputy Leader, after May’s election.

After May 2nd the council will be run by 8 policy committees, plus a Leader and Deputy of the council.

New powers of scrutiny and overview given to Chief Constables and PCC's, which make it easier to sack unfit officers for:

* Failing a re-vetting
* Gross Misconduct

This will improve police moral and public trust.

The Green Party has repeated its call for a full bilateral ceasefire, the release of all hostages, the suspension of arms exports to Israel, and for the Netanyahu government to be held accountable for possible war crimes, six months on from the 7 October attacks by Hamas.

The Government continues to fail our rivers.

In August, Therese Coffey claimed the Government was “close to finalising” its emergency plan for the River Wye - but it is still nowhere to be seen.

We need urgent action to restore our rivers - not empty promises.
