We said a big thank you and goodbye to our work experience student L who has been with us all year. Thank you L for all your hard work and support. Thank you for the lovely gifts you gave us too. We will miss you! ☺️

We wrote a persuasive letter to Mrs McNairney to ask if Primary 2M could have an extra playtime. Mrs McNairney was very impressed with our letters and has agreed to us having an extra playtime tomorrow. We are very excited! Well done P2M! 👏😀

We were exploring multiplication today. We revised the idea multiplication is repeated addition of equal groups. We then explored the 2 x table and used our knowledge of skip counting to count in groups of 2. We are going to practice our 2 x table at home. 😀

We did an amazing job on our sponsored walk today, despite the rain! ☔️ Thank you to all of the helpers. We had a little treat waiting from the Easter bunny when we got back. 🍫😀 🐰

We have been exploring money this week. We have discussed when we would use money and the different ways we can pay for things. We have been revising the value of coins this week. We have also been speeding up our mental agility completing Daily ten in our groups. 😊

Thank you to S for talking to us about Nowruz the Iranian New Year. We really enjoyed looking at all of the symbolic items you brought in too and finding out what they represent. 😀

We had a lovely trip to Larbert library today. Jennifer read us two great books and then we got the chance to choose our own books to take out. We really enjoyed reading these when we got back to class. Thank you to our parent helpers who were a brilliant help. Falkirk Libraries

We were very proud to take part in the STEM showcase today. Here is our table set up. 😀 We also had the opportunity to see what other classes were learning about during STEM week. We found out about the human body, natural disasters, renewable energy sources and life cycles. 👏

Thank you to Mr McKean our parent volunteer for your brilliant talk about electricity! We learned how electricity is formed and about renewable energy. We also had fun finding out how rubbing a balloon against hair causes electrons to move from the hair to the balloon. 😀

As part of STEM week we carried out an experiment to find out why the sky is blue. We also explored vibrations today. We tested how the vibrations from our voice can pass as sound waves through a cup and along string to our partner’s ear. 😀

As part of STEM week we explored how shadows are formed. We made our own puppets and with a sunny afternoon in our favour took them out to create our own shadow puppet show. We also had fun making shadows with our bodies and enjoyed playing shadow tig with Miss Geddes & P2G

To kick off STEM week we started exploring light. We answered the question, ‘Which natural and artificial light sources do we have?’ We illustrated these in pairs. Tomorrow we are going to carry out some experiments to answer why the sky is blue and how shadows are formed. 🧪 💡

What a busy World book day! We had a book breakfast, visited the book swap and the book fayre.We started our applications for the Blue Peter badge, writing about our favourite books.📕 #WorldBookDay2024

The Blue Peter badge applications will be coming home tomorrow. If your child would like it to be sent off please help them to complete the other sections and sign the front. If you send them back into school with your child I can make sure they are sent off. Thank you. 😀

A little reminder tomorrow is World Book Day! 🌎 📚 Pupils are encouraged to bring an extra snack to school to have at our Book Breakfast. Pupils can also come to school wearing pyjamas or onesies. I have also asked pupils to bring their favourite book in their bags. Thank you😀
