Sunday April 7, 3 generations of KTA members went to Holocaust Center to see the Kindertransport Journey, Memory into History exhibit designed by Kind Robert Sugar, plus artifacts (including a KT suitcase) curated by KTA Exec Director. A most meaningful field trip!

The KTA just hosted a Book Talk with Vivien Sieber on her book Kino and Kinder. These are 3 Kindertransport children her grandmother took care of at Tynemouth hostel. Coming from a cinema owning family, she negotiated free movies at the local cinema to help Kinder learn English.

85 years ago today, Ruth Birnholz (z”l) arrived at Liverpool Street Station in London, fleeing Vienna, Austria by Kindertransport. In America, Ruth Birnholz became an Academy Award nominated costume designer, Ruth Morley.

The KTA is saddened to learn that a Kindertransport memorial in Berlin was graffitied on New Years eve, and we are are grateful that it was quickly and successfully cleaned, with no damage to the memorial.

December 10. 2023, is the 85th anniversary of the date that the first Kindertransport left Vienna. Lore Segal was on this train. It was a small light in dark times. We remember, we share our stories, the tragedy, hope and resilience of the Kinder. We learn from them every day.

On Sunday Dec 3, the KTA commemorated the first KIndertransport to leave Berlin on Dec 1, 1938. 85 years on and we're still here. These are the Kindertransport survivors, the 2nd & 3rd generations also enjoyed the gathering.
