I’m not on here often, but this is a problem that tears at my heart. No parent should lose a child to gun violence. This is a gun problem, and there is a solution. #DoSomething

This may be the most un-American thing I have ever seen. Intentionally slow, relational, & designed for the well-being of society's more vulnerable members? Most American churches don't even do that, nevermind our supermarkets!

You can’t manufacture a move of the Spirit, but you can make space for it.

Just hollered at my bird dog Creek nearing our house after our morning romp in the woods,

“Stay with it! We’re almost there! This is no time to roll in something dead!”

And I thought maybe Creek might not be the only one who needed that cheering on. I’ve needed it a few times.

Sometimes I'm prone to catastrophic thinking. In these times I'm reminded of Tolkien's concept of 'eucatastrophe.' Eucatastrophe is a sober embrace of this present darkness, but with the awareness that good can suddenly break through, not by heroic effort but by grace.

At Mass this morning during the Gospel, my son bids me to lean over. I do. He says, 'The Gospel according to Luke Skywalker' with a big grin.

After the Bible story today in children’s church, one kindergartner turned to another and said “I have a book at home with ALL these stories in it.”

Which is truly AMAZING when you think about it.

Three Supreme Court justices were appointed by a president who took $30 million from the NRA and confirmed by senators who took even more from the NRA.

This decision was not made on behalf of the American people it was made on behalf of the gun industry and bad guys with guns.
