As we said in 2018, this case was always about hiding key information from voters, and now a jury of the former president’s peers have confirmed that he lied to the public by falsifying business records. The decision should be respected and so should the jury's civic duty.

Justice Alito lacks integrity and with his continued gaslighting he further diminishes what little trust and respect people have in the court. ⁦Senator Dick Durbin⁩ must call a hearing to investigate the lack of ethics at politico.com/news/2024/05/2…

In 2019, we predicted the Rucho v. Common Cause decision 'gave the green light to the most extreme partisan gerrymanders.' Today, SCOTUS hid behind the decision to silence Black voters.

The ethical concerns here are staggering but what remains worse is the fact that by not recusing himself, Justice Alito further destabilizes the faith in the court. He has a responsibility to put the institution before himself and must recuse. washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/…

I voted early today in the Maryland primary! Thanks to the election workers at Rolling Crest Community Center in Prince George’s County who made it fast and easy.

Kristen is an extraordinary leader who has restored faith to the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. I am disgusted that anyone would use her trauma to try to discredit her integrity. Expunged means gone. cnn.com/2024/05/01/pol…

In the NC primary 477 properly registered voters were disenfranchised for not having ID. In 2020, the state supreme court chief justice race was decided by 401 votes out of 5.5 million. Voter ID laws create harmful barriers to LEGAL voters who can’t afford or can’t access an ID

Spending the weekend in North Carolina learning about their democracy work and all I can say is WOW! The people here are organizing, protecting voters, and serving as watchdogs for good - they are powerful! Glad to say Common Cause is at the table.

These are my sweet boys, Han Solo and Chewbacca. I’m outraged that any politician would think killing a dog is anything but cruel. R/T is you agree.

This is a critical win for the public and for champions of transparency. So proud of our team at Common Cause for making this a reality.

I struggle with framing this as a “hush money” trial. This was much more serious than that. This was about keeping information from the American people before they voted. It is about campaign interference, ethics and transparency. washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/…

The fact remains that our elections are secure and we already have laws on the books that are enforced. It’s a slap in the face to election workers (both Democratic and Republican) to suggest otherwise.
