Kingsman Alan Jones, aged 20 from Dovecot,Liverpool, and 2nd Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, was killed on St George's Day when his platoon came under small arms fire attack in the Al Ashar area of Basra, Iraq

Private Hugh McIver VC MM Bar, of 2nd Battalion Royal Scots, was killed in action in France, on 2nd September, 1918, aged 28 years old
We laid flowers and paid respects at his family headstone in Cambuslang (Westburn) Cemetery
