Godmen of the Jesus type were 10 a penny. He built a reputation among strangers, not among those who knew him & saw through his gimmicks. It remains a joke of cosmic proportions that his local & illiterate fan club grew into a world religion, illustrating mankind's gullibility.

Jesus was definitely historical, just like Rama & Krsna. A wandering exorcist healer, superstitious believer in his own power & drawing the Bible's Messiah predictions to himself. Projection of Pagan-mythic & Platonic (belief in afterlife) contents are from after his death.

What did the British Fascists call it? Did they burden their language w/ another loanword, Hakenkreuz, after having adopted Swastika already? The public not paying heed, you may get away w/ this cheap pretension that different words can't mean the same thing (pani =/= water?).

Is that a reply to me? I've not committed myself to any population figure, only written 'if' as a concession-for-the-sake-of-argument to the 70 mio figure proposed by my amateur interlocutor. Maybe E Musk can remedy the Twitter problem of ppl answering to what has not been said.

As I have written, KS Lal's 1979 estimate of 80 mio ppl disappeared was a provisional attempt, thus far not followed up; but reasonable. If the population at one moment was 70 mio, then the generations over 525y was obviously a manifold of that. Beyond your ken?

See, that is the damage done by mendacious historians like DN Jha: incompetent zealots (secularist or Izl@mic) use him as argument of authority for their wishful opinions. But see: indiafacts.org/eminent-histor…

What *evidence*, heh? When Hindus use logical connectors, like 'so', 'it follows that', 'this proves that', then beter take cover, for what follows is a big non-sequitur. That the claim made (that the Veda is apauruseya) is false, is evidence enough that it was made up.

Exactly: a tradition of Rama as a divine incarnation was *invented*, along w/ the apauruseyatva of the Vedas & the caste system. Tulsidas taps into this invented tradition on a divine Rama, just as Sankara taps into an invented tradition of a divinely-revealed Veda.

As long as they find no interlocutor in the other camp. Talageri has addressed a few AIT'ers; they are put off by his bluntness (so it goes nowhere), seemingly unaware that they themselves get worse than blunt. For the rest, I am always the only OIT'er at AIT conferences.

Many tribes' self-designation has simply been 'men'. Mostly foreigners were considered non-human, even demons, intrinsically evil. Since one episode, terms like Râkshasa, Asura & indeed Dâsa actually connote 'foreigner', 'foe': he pursues his own (> not our) agenda, hence 'evil'.

U slikt het linkse zelfbeeld. Zij tegen haatzaaien? Zij gebruiken dat alleen als knuppel tegen andersdenkenden: jullie zaaien haat, foei, jullie mogen dat niet, alleen wij mogen dat. Zelf beoefenen en zaaien zij ongegeneerd haat. Zo heerlijk haten, daarin zit juist hun kracht.

So AIT champion Parpola calls the Vedic tribe's direct adversaries in NW India 'proto-Sakas',= 'ancestors of the Scythians'. So he admits that the Scythians or Dâsas, attested as far west as the Balkans, came from India. Many statements by the AIT camp actualy support the OIT.

A good example of how Hs fail to grasp historicity. Dâsa doesn't 'mean' foreigner or servant. 1st it meant just 'man', like an army sergeant's men. 2nd it became a ethnonym for Iranians,~ Dahai. 3rd it meant the Iranian commoners after their elites' flight, hence commoner, serf.

Greetings from Ayodhya. Back after 33y, I lectured about the Ayodhya affair at Awadh University on All Saints' Day. Today I attended a Rama Kathâ, had a talk w/ Sri Champat Rai, who oversees the temple-building; & visited the Digambar Jain birthplace temple of Adinath Rsabhadeva.

I favour Ghar Wâpasi, as said in Talageri's article, but I also accept that for high-profile converts, there are serious drawbacks partly cause by Hindu attitudes.

Consider the other side of Ghar Wâpasi. Recently a Kerala film director & a Shia leader did high-profile reconversions, risking their lives w/ public criticisms of Izl@m, & look how Hindu society has rewarded them -- even its purported vanguard.

You correctly admit slavery was practised not only by the Portuguese but also the indigenous Xians. Not some colonial ideology but the Xian doctrine itself justified slavery. Amusing to see Sevak Masih's verbal acrobatics to obscure the fact that Xity supported slavery.

The nuisance w/ slander like S Gopal's here is that, even after being long refuted, it can find an army of mediocrities (like Teije vd Vliet) ready to reproduce & perpetuate it. Gopal even managed to make Indologist Peter vd Veer repudiate his own (correct!) pro-temple findings.

S Gopal, a Communist practitioner of polemics & long dead, wrote this 30y ago. The personal attack had to stand in for the sorely absent arguments for his claim that there had never been a temple at the Rama site in Ayodhya, as well-proven since & admitted by the Courts.

Amid all the hate thrown at you, Nupur-ji, even on your birthday, allow me to express my admiration for your combative expression of Hindu self-respect. Even a birthday is as good an occasion to say this as any other day. academia.edu/43813906/Down_…
