How will the affirmative action decision impact racial diversity in law schools? My new working paper with Rick Brooks and Sarath Sanga shows that state affirmative action bans decrease law school diversity by between 17 and 25 percent. ssrn.com/abstract=44947…

One last thing (for now): We should not see the Court’s gutting of affirmative action as disconnected from a broader racial project. This, too, is part of a racial backlash—long in the making. This, too, frustrates the goal of true multiracial democracy.

And that’s the point.

So the posts calling out Jake Shields (who advocated for the public executions of doctors and teachers of trans kids) have now been deleted by Twitter

My screenshot exposing Twitter blue users gleefully supporting genocide is now gone

Trying to keep this one quiet? Elon Musk

The NYTs is so transphobic that it's treating an astroturfed hate campaign like bad weather, and anyone who dared to treat transpeople with a modicum of respect like they're idiots for forgetting an umbrella.

This headline is a masterclass in normalizing hate.

I can’t count the number of @umich “equity & inclusion” events I’ve been invited to in the last week alone, but equitable pay is a no.

“Equity” is an endless dress rehearsal at @umich

The forceful removal of children from their families based on immutable characteristics is genocide.

Honestly, why do people support Archives of Sexual Behavior as a leading (relatively speaking) journal? The bar they consistently use for reviewing transphobic research and opinion pieces is basically the floor.

Stop publishing with them.

Today we Movement Advancement Project released a new report covering bills attacking people's access to in recent years. While most bills target youth, we show how the bills have become more extreme, illustrating their true goal: ending medical care for *all* trans people.

We should call the targeting of trans youth what it is: just pure evil masquerading as concern. We know that kids will die because of these cruel policies and these attacks on their dignity. People of good conscience cannot be silent on these issues.

Remember when conservative media defended this law entirely on the basis that “young children” in K-3 shouldn’t hear about gender or sexuality in school? Now it also applies for all the way through high school.

Personal statements ask us to open up about our journey only to later use our experiences as weak points to justify our exclusion. When we share our confidence in ourselves it's painted as cockiness and pride. When we share our struggles we are blamed for them. How do we win?

Recommend Dan Hopkins Stable Condition, especially for complicating our understanding of racialization. If racial attitudes cause things more proximate to opinion, this also means the outcome is racialized.

Clearly articulates something I've been thinking about for awhile.

Missouri just effectively banned care for trans people of all ages starting in two weeks.

When I started practicing law 13 yrs ago, categorical bans on care were clearly understood to violate the 8th Amendment's prohibition on Cruel & Unusual Punishment in prisons.

I can’t adequately express my enthusiasm about this piece. It challenges us to take a step back to consider issue of polarization from a perspective that accounts for inequality and hierarchy. It’s a long overdue and necessary intervention in this literature and in the discourse.
