Roncalli is 3A in basketball. Sectional: Beech Grove, Greenwood, Indian Creek, New Palestine, Roncalli, Rushville and Shelbyville.

Class 3A basketball will have Brebeuf Jesuit, Crawfordsville, Danville, Frankfort, Guerin Catholic, Lebanon, Tri-West in one sectional and Herron, Bishop Chatard, Cathedral, Crispus Attucks, Shortridge, Purdue Poly in another.

New IHSAA sectional assignments approved today. Sectional 8 in basketball will remain same with six teams (Fishers, HSE, Westfield, Zionsville, Noblesville, Carmel). One major change is now Sectional 11: Avon, Ben Davis, Brownsburg, Pike, Plainfield. Will have more takeaways

Rajshawn Mosley is the new football coach at Beech Grove. Mosley coached last season at Christel House after working as assistant at Lawrence Central, Perry Meridian. Mosley is a Tech grad, went on to play at Northern Illinois and Indiana State. Beech Grove was 5-6 last season.

A proposal to assert beach volleyball is a distinct sport as opposed to indoor volleyball and would allow student-athletes to play both during high school volleyball season failed to generate any support (0-18). In straw polling only 24.7% of membership was in favor.

Girls lacrosse was considered as an emerging sport but that action was tabled by IHSAA board of directors until the June executive committee meeting.

Finished this book for April. It's a little dated (published in 2010) but still interesting look at Washington Post and the newspaper business at the time (with a lot of background history).
