Over the last several days the men and women of LAPD Southwest continued arresting criminals who illegally possess weapons. Many with an extensive criminal history for violence. Accountability for violent crimes is needed. We continue to do our part. Los Angeles Police Protective League

Last year LAPD Southwest lobby was destroyed due to fire. Front desk opened recently and today with the help of a local teacher (aka my daughter) we made the lobby inviting for citizens with kids. Thanks to Los Angeles Police Protective League and Command Officers Association for their support.

As LAPD Southwest provided info on reporting crimes online lapdonline.org/file-a-police-… and the myLA311 app for City Services, officers drove upon a shooting in progress. Their effort led to a great start to solve this crime. Community engagement and courageous service is what we do.

Thank you to LAPD Metropolitan Mounted Unit for their Servant Leadership today in LAPD Southwest As well as making a felony arrest they assisted a visually impaired individual get home. One cannot succeed by operating in a silo. For public safety to be lasting there needs to be a shared responsibility. In addition to uniformed patrol officers who handle tremendous call loads daily LAPD Southwest has specialized units who focus on violent criminals that prey on members of the community. Today we held an Award Ceremony for our Cadets to celebrate their dedication to the Post and their service to the Southwest Community. Thank you to the parents and families who support their young adults going above and beyond!

The future of public safety and community engagement was represented as LAPD Southwest recognized and promoted Police Cadets. Each a leader in their own way. Doing all the things kids do and being servants to their communities, Admirable. Credit to their parents who raised them.

Honored to attend Association of Black Law Enforcement Executives(ABLE) as the Torch Bearers of ABLE were acknowledged as well as recent advancements of the current leaders. Hosted by a wonderful and compassionate couple who give back in many ways. LAPD Southwest LAPD - West Los Angeles

Public safety is a multi pronged task. Ofcrs/dets arresting criminals. Govt and NGOs working on opportunities for all communities. Prosecutors holding criminals accountable. At a recent community event a local school approached and expressed their desire to help the community. See attached for information regarding this opportunity for our Southwest Community. It’s amazing how many supportive and energetic people are within this great community.

Today the #SouthwestCommunity and LAPD Southwest men and women gathered to share ideas over a cup of coffee Starbucks building partnerships so that not one group has to go at it alone. A robust and proud community showing how to engage.
