One wonderful thing about last night's was that it prompted we mere mortals who aren't astrophysicist to remember to look up into the vastness of the universe. This above our garden, even in light polluted Thames Valley.

🥰Fantastic news! , a 'Cat A' masterpiece in Midlothian, is to be saved 50yrs after a devastating fire. Bravo The Landmark Trust, National Heritage Memorial Fund, Historic Environment Scotland & everyone who's worked so hard to overcome hurdles inc poor condition & unclear ownership 👏

Real fun talking to the fabulous India Knight about her brilliant update of Pursuit of Love at today's Chipping Campden Literature Festival Literary Lunch. Mitford fans take note, it works.

Slightly surreal and spellbinding at the same time. I had the privilege of seeing in May morning from the top of Magdalen tower. A once in a lifetime experience!

Quite possibly was. Foreseen by Joseph Gandy (c Soane Museum). And the poor stone caryatids carted unceremoniously away in a cart, to end up in fragments that still surface in dealer's sales.
