The FAA issued 11,225 airline pilot certificates during the 2023 calendar year. The number is DOUBLE what airlines will hire in 2024. Spirit and a couple other airlines are FURLOUGHING pilots and Southwest stopped hiring pilots indefinitely. There is no 'pilot shortage'.

Senate voted 88-4 on FAA bill that kept the pilot retirement age at 65. Shows there wasn’t really any support for it. Maybe in 5 years they can look at it again.

Here's a good example of a skewed chart. He's saying its the 'biggest difference ever' in buy vs rent monthly payment. But it was 2X as much in the 80s. But adjusted for inflation, it was a FAR bigger difference in the 80s.

Turns out the pilot retirement age didn't have 'widespread support' in Congress. The version with Age 67 removed passed both the house and senate committees UNANIMOUSLY.

Maybe in 5 years when this expires it can be added but until then, enjoy retirement!
